Frequently Asked Questions

What types of vehicles are compatible with our roof racks?

Our collection of roof racks covers a wide range of vehicles: pickups, SUVs, 4x4s, vans, and even some crossovers. The models are mainly from the VAN44 brand (made in Canada, from stainless steel or sturdy aluminum) and RCI OFF ROAD, with a focus on precise compatibility by generation and model. Toyota: 4Runner (all generations 1990+), Tacoma (all generations 2005+), Tundra, Land Cruiser (LC250 2023+, Prado LC120), RAV4 (2019+), Sequoia (2000-2007), FJ Cruiser (2006-2022).

  • Chevrolet / GMC: Colorado / Canyon (2015+ and 2023+).
  • Lexus: GX550 (2023+), GX470 (2003-2009).
  • Ford: Ranger (2019-2023), Bronco 4-door (2021+ via RCI).
  • Others: Rivian R1S (2022+), Porsche Cayenne (2003-2010).
  • Pro tip: Each rack is custom-designed for a specific vehicle (not universal like some bed racks). Always check the generation and year of your model when ordering—we can confirm with your VIN or photos if needed.

Why choose a VAN44 roof rack?

Made in Canada: high-quality stainless steel or aluminum, corrosion-resistant and able to withstand Quebec winters/road salt.

Designed for overlanding: supports roof tents, kayaks, bikes, jerry cans, lighting, etc. (high dynamic/static loads depending on model).

Clean installation: most require no major drilling into the original roof (vehicle-specific kits).

Modular design: easily add accessories (additional bars, side mounts, MOLLE panels).

Premium, rugged look: perfect for everyday adventurers or serious off-roaders.

Are roof racks compatible with roof tents?

Yes, that's their main use! All racks in the collection are optimized to support roof tents (hard-shell or soft-shell).

    • Dynamic load often 200-300 lb (movement/wind).
    • Static load 400-600 lb+ (stationary/camping).
    • Secure mounting for James Baroud or other tents (automatic discount of $100-150 when purchased together).
    Roof Rack Installation

Do I need to drill holes in the box to install the rack?
No, in most cases: our racks can be mounted without drilling on the box rails (top-rail mounting) using the included brackets.
Exception: some models (e.g., VAN44) offer an option with drilling for more specific mounting ($395 instead of $295).

Can I install the rack myself?
Yes, installation is possible with basic tools (no drilling required in the standard version). However, we strongly recommend professional installation for a secure and guaranteed fit.

What are the costs and lead times for professional installation?

    • Standard price: $295 (on the South Shore of Montreal)
    • VAN44 without drilling: $295 | with drilling: $950
    • Approximate timeframes:
      RAXA: 2–4 days
      ORO / VAN44: 7–10 days
      PEAK / RCI: 10–15 days
