A Toyota Sequoia roof rack built for the highway
The 304 stainless frame stands up to road salt and coastal air. Then the textured powder coat shrugs off strap scuffs. Aluminum bars keep the platform lighter than a full steel grid.
The deflector adds utility hooks and a light-bar mount. Also, it cuts wind noise before the Coquihalla or the Trans-Canada. Install uses the factory roof holes. No cutting is required.
Fitment and use cases
This rack fits the 2023-2026 Sequoia, 3rd generation. It follows OEM points for a clean, quiet line. Still, always follow Toyota’s published roof limit. The rack rating does not replace the vehicle rating.
Weekend rooftop tent trip
Spread the tent feet across several bars. Then the load stays planted on gravel corners. Keep the nose clear for the deflector and a low light bar.
Multi-week road trip
Mount the awning on one side plate and lay traction boards flat. Next, set the heavy box near the center feet. Measure total height before a parkade.
Months off-grid
Use the static rating at camp, not while driving. For example, a tent, an awning, and two jerry cans is a sensible real-world cap. Rinse salt after a winter haul, even on stainless.
Install and trail tips
Torque the hardware to spec, then recheck it after 60 miles. Finally, inspect the mounts after every rough track. A low, aligned rack keeps noise and fuel use down.
