Premium Materials and Manufacturing

For over 30 years, James Baroud has been designing some of the most reliable roof top tents in the world. All materials are carefully selected and sourced in Europe to ensure uncompromising quality.

Hard shells are manufactured in Milan, Italy, while technical fabrics come from the Netherlands and are also used in aerospace applications. Seams are sewn with German Gütermann threads, and each tent is hand-assembled in Portugal. The result is exceptional durability, backed by a full 5-year warranty.

Fiberglass Hard Shell Construction of the hard shell roof top tent

The four-layer fiberglass shell is engineered to handle the most demanding climates. It resists snow, heavy rain, strong winds, and extreme heat. The gelcoat provides long-lasting UV protection, even after years of exposure.

An integrated solar fan ensures continuous airflow, effectively reducing condensation day and night. In addition, self-locking latches enhance safety during off-road travel.

Breathable Aluminized Fabric

The patented aluminized fabric reflects solar rays while remaining breathable. This keeps the interior cooler in summer and limits moisture during cold nights.

The 180° panoramic openings of the Large roof top tent provide excellent visibility, while durable mosquito screens protect effectively against insects. Silent, rugged rubberized zippers complete the setup.

Comfort and Integrated Features

The Space M roof top tent includes a 65 mm high-density mattress for restful sleep, even on long journeys. Well-designed storage areas, a rechargeable portable LED light, and a sturdy ladder complete the setup for a no-compromise experience.

Compatibility and Uses of the large roof top tent

The James Baroud Space M is compatible with most standard roof bars and racks (typical dynamic load rating of 75 kg). It also accepts James Baroud awnings, annexes, and four-season insulation kits.

Finally, it integrates perfectly into an off-grid setup with a diesel heater, solar panels, or power stations, whether mounted on vans, SUVs, or overland trucks.

Practical Tips for Canada

For optimal use of the roof top tent, make sure the vehicle is level on soft ground and activate the solar fan in humid conditions. On road trips, use the interior space to free up room inside the vehicle. On long expeditions, adding an anti-condensation mat will further maximize comfort.
