A 2nd gen Sequoia roof rack for a long roof
The 304 stainless frame stands up to road salt and coastal moisture. Then the textured powder coat shrugs off strap marks. Nine bars give more points for a tent and recovery boards.
The deflector adds utility hooks and a light-bar mount. Also, it cuts wind before the mountain passes. Install uses the factory roof holes. No drilling is required.
Fitment and use cases
This rack fits the 2008-2022 Sequoia only. It does not fit 2000-2007 or 2023-up trucks. Still, always follow Toyota’s published roof limit. The rack rating does not replace the vehicle rating.
Weekend rooftop tent trip
Spread the tent feet across several of the 9 bars. Then the load stays planted on gravel corners. Keep the nose clear for the deflector and a low light bar.
Multi-week road trip
Mount the awning on one side and set the heavy box at center. Next, measure total height before a parkade. This rack weighs 80 lb, so plan a two-person lift.
Months off-grid
Use the static rating at camp, not while driving. For example, a tent and two jerry cans is a sensible real-world cap. Rinse salt after winter, even on stainless.
Install tips
Confirm the year before you order, since three generations exist. Finally, torque to spec and recheck after 60 miles. A low, straight rack keeps noise and fuel use down.
